Steve & Bucky | Lament Of Captain America

This is the counterpart/sequel to my past video, "Hymn of the Winter Soldier", featuring Steve as the central focus. His sense of loss, grief, displacement, were palpable in all films--- and the return of Bucky and its effect on Steve was fascinating to explore in one video! As with the past video, this one has a theme, a lament, and the Captain's Lament (separate from Steve) is simultaneously the loss of Bucky and, in Civil War, what the price of keeping him means, globally and personally.
In Civil War we finally see Steve come to the forefront, as opposed to his Captain persona, and it culminates in him choosing Bucky over being Captain America---thus the final lament. And in a way he has to lose Bucky to cryostasis in order to keep him (Christ this is depressing...).
I chose the music because its melody struck me as mournful but capable of changing into an unstoppable battle anthem, and I think that's very in line with Steve's character, the Captain America character, and how deeply intertwined Bucky is in that story.

Powerful video. It doesn't just tell the story, it makes us feel it. It's so great how you used blur when Bucky tries to recall, but his memories are vague. Also, the Hans Zimmer soundtrack works perfect. Truly great video. Thank you.

this is a work of art. i love the headcanon that the winter soldier was more compliant with pierce because he resembled what steve might have looked like when he was older. and you did such an amazing job putting together all these clips and audio snippets to get that across. your video really tells a tragic, emotional story. and it's all the more amazing that you pulled it off with limited source material. i'm very curious about what you had in mind for a steve-depression video/segment
